I upacked 54 childrens books today ranging from Board Books to Young Adult. They look great! It will take a while to process them all so they are not ready to be checked out yet, but I will let you know when they are ready. I will also list them under new books so you will knnow what is available. I am so grateful to the ECOs, the BEARS, and the LIBRI Foundation for the books. They will really enhance our children’s’ section of the library. One of the new books was a donation from the author. We will plan an open house the day of the craft show and Christmas Parade to showcase all our new books. will have more on that later.
Don’t forget story hour on Wednesday Morning at 9:30 AM
Due to a grant from the Libri Foundation and the generosity of ECO’S and BEARS the Edna Library will be receiving over 50 children’s books in the next couple of months. We are very exited by the opportunity to get so many books for our children. They span all ages, from board books to teen books. We will let you know when the books arrive and will plan a celebration for all to come and see our new books.
The 6 X 6 Program is designed to help children be ready to start reading when they go to school.
We have a tub of toys etc. designed to help with this. There are books, toys, and activities along with instructions on how to use. We will have this set for 3 months and then get another when available. So drop in with your little one in to the Edna Library and have some fun.
Story Hour will begin at Edna Public Library on Wednesday September 1724 2014 at 9:30 am.
Story Hour will then be in held every Wednesday at 9:30 am that School is in session.
If a Wednesday needs to be skipped due to library business, the information will be posted concerning the Wednesday that will be skipped.
The Dig into Reading Summer Reading is over for this summer. The Preschoolers planted the library planter boxes and explored various underground themes. The K-4th Grade had and archaeology Club and in an Artifact Assembly (putting together broken pots), making coins, a shoe box excavation, mapped their rooms, a time capsule and digging through (clean) trash to make assumptions about the users. The Teens & Tweens also put together a much bigger pot, made a worry stone, filled out a trivia Quiz, and also did a time capsule, and sorted trash.
We Had 22 children signed up for Summer Reading this year. 11 of the 22 completed their reading contracts and collected their prizes.
We now have book drop box so if we are not here you come to the library you put your books in the drop box. Enjoy
